If you are on a photo in the photo viewer and moment to moment are navigating forward, and you rename the underlying folder, xnviewmp doesn't detect this and in the navigation (not the next but seems one after) just shows blank - easy to happen if you are multitasking different things, you may well have forgotten the rename if it was a natural change
* I think on not finding the file it should stay on the one that's showing, and should also check for folder absence and handle appropriately (eg popup)

Do you rename the folder outside?
Pierre.

Yes, I use xnview for viewing, but voidtools "Everything" for most file-folder tasks, it's very easy to rename a folder xnview is viewing from outside because I use the viewing to decide how to name the folder, but easy to forget as you jump around between tasks and then wonder why you navigate in xnview and it goes blank. In a multiuser environment someone could be viewing a folder that's renamed by someone else.
So it was more of a better way to handle that occurrence for people with just an extra line or two of code, e.g. "Folder has disappeared".
