there is some inconsistency between fitting modes in XnView and XnShell
Suggestion
- XnShell
- use same modes as in XnView
- rename
- Centered → No fit
the biggest difference between modes lies in the fitting area, not in the origin
so it is better to specify the fitting aspect of a given mode
- Tile from center → Tile
center is default origin point, it does not need special highlighting
- Tile → Tile (top-left)
indicate origin point when it differs from default
- Centered → No fit
Modes
| Mode | Down | Up | Crop | Ratio | Full | Repeat | Origin |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| No fit | ✖ | ✖ | ✖ | ✔ | ✖ | ✖ | Center |
| Fit | ✔ | ✔ | ✖ | ✔ | ✖ | ✖ | Center |
| Fill | ✔ | ✔ | ✔ | ✔ | ✔ | ✖ | Center |
| Stretch | ✔ | ✔ | ✖ | ✖ | ✔ | ✖ | Center |
| Tile | ✖ | ✖ | ✖ | ✔ | ✔ | ✔ | Center |
| Tile (top-left) | ✖ | ✖ | ✖ | ✔ | ✔ | ✔ | Top-left |
Down - downscale large image
Up - upscale small image
Full - cover entire screen
Ratio - keep aspect ratio
Repeat - image is tiled to fill screen
Origin - reference point for placement or tiling
