Toolbar always visible

Post by SoCu »

Hello, I don't know why this happens, but most of the time I have to display the toolbar because it is hidden.

Image

It's strange, because sometimes it shows up, but most of the time it's hidden. I don't know if it's because I'm displaying images in the same folder, or if the first time I display them in another folder it's hidden. I'm running tests, and I can't explain why, since sometimes it shows up, but most of the time it's hidden.

I don't know if I need to delete a file to generate it again. The antivirus is configured so that it doesn't scan the folder. I don't know why this is happening.

I would appreciate any help so that the toolbar is always displayed.

Thank you.

When I display the toolbar and exit XnViewMP, and then return to viewing images, the toolbar is not always displayed. Sometimes it appears, and sometimes it doesn't. I don't know if it's because I'm in another folder with other images. I can't tell you the reason. I've tried several ways, and sometimes it appears and sometimes it doesn't. This has been going on for a long time, and I gave up on finding a solution. I had another post open, but I haven't been able to find it.

I thought it might be due to a bad configuration or interference with another program, but I reinstalled Windows, and it happened again.

Look, it just happened again. I'm in a folder with images that I'm saving, and I'm opening them to change the format and size. The toolbar menu is showing, but there's a moment when I open an image and it stops showing.

P.S. I use the XnShell extension to do this work, but it's hidden in the Windows 11 menu. I've opened a post with a request.

Hello, forgive my ignorance, but I don't know how it works. I don't know if it's in edit mode. When I click on an image, it shows up in full screen. I click again and the browser shows up with all the images, and since the image is selected, I press Enter again to show the window where I can change the size, etc. I guess that's the edit mode.

Try to remove 'state' in [Viewer] group of your xnview.ini

I thought that deleting that part would work, because the toolbar had been showing up for a while, but today it stopped appearing when I opened an image, so it's still not working.

I've been waiting to format the computer in case it was interfering with something, but now that I have few things installed, it's still not working.

purge recent files&folders (Settings>Interface) and share your xnview.ini (zip and attach here)

Here is the compressed xnview.ini file.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

I cannot reproduce with your .ini

try to start with clean settings (rename/delete existing .ini)

Nothing, it failed again. I tried deleting the *.INI file and reconfiguring everything.

I thought it would be fine, because every time I tried it, the toolbar appeared, until today when it stopped showing up. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Maybe stop hitting the key that you assigned to the cmd_useToolbar command in Settings:Interface:Shortcuts?

Or unassign the shortcut. There's one for both Browser and Viewer.

I just disabled the key combination for cmd_useToolbar. Let's give it some time and see how it behaves.

thank you
