1.9.10 Rebuilt thumbnails slows down if image opened full screen

Post by FKCapitalism2 »

Say you have 100 DNG files in the folder then use select all (Ctrl+A) and view rebuild thumbnails.

This process goes consistently fast however if somewhere in between say at 50% of update you double click a single item it will open full screen view then double clock again and it goes back to thumbnails view where rebuild process continues 51%

however after opening image in full screen during thumbnail rebuild process then closing - thumbnail rebuild process slows down a lot and becomes like five times slower than normal.

Can go back out of the folder with images and return to that folder then it finishes remaining rebuild of thumbnails with proper speed.

So essentially thumbnail rebuild process slows down if during process you open any image full screen and then close.

Yes indeed i think its unrelated to opening image, but i do get slowdown even during regular rebuild of thumbnails sometimes when 100-300 DNG files in folder. It slow's down around 40% until i exit one directlry up and go back to folder with files speed resumes. It must be some buffer that fills up.

Yes that's how XnViewMP is set up to work i had this since v1.6 or earlier already forgot what option i changed to have it work like this, something about use single tab instead of multiple tabs and yes it never close the image tab after opening thumbnail in full screen (double click thumbnail or press enter) and then going back to thumbnail (double clicking the full size image or press enter).

in case this related.

Just passing by...

The latest version is better than before (see reference). Usually, the first time you open the program, it takes a long time to load folders or thumbnails, but if you close the program, the next time you open the same folder or thumbnail, it will cache normally. I still consider it a bug.
