I’ve noticed something about the video playback in XnView MP and wanted to ask if this could possibly be improved.
Or maybe Im missing a specific setting somewhere related to it...?
When viewing videos the seeking behavior seems to rely on only a few specific positions in the timeline (video keyframes). If I click somewhere on the seek bar, the player often jumps several seconds forward or backward instead of going exactly to the point I clicked.
In comparison, with players like Media Player Classic on Windows, I can usually jump to almost any position in the video timeline, even in very short clips. So it's not a broken video file, just a regular Full-HD mp4 file encoded by ShutterEncoder. Nothing special.
This becomes a bit inconvenient when quickly reviewing or sorting many short videos (for example vacation clips), because everytime I have to watch like 5-10 seconds before reaching the part I actually want to check.
Is this limitation related to how XnView MP handles keyframes, and would it be possible to improve the seeking behavior so that it allows more precise navigation within videos as other players do?
Thanks for the great software and all the work that goes into it!
