Sorting by "EXIF:Date taken" does not sort by date taken.

Effect: Pictures are sorted by anything, but not date taken and are not chronologically in most cases.

To reproduce:
1. Have some pictures with different dates within "Create date", "Changed date", "EXIF: Create date", "EXIF: Changed date", "EXIF:Digitized date"
2. Switch sorting these pictures by selecting "View – 'Sort by …'

Actual behaviour (bug): Pictures with "EXIF: Create date" say "2026-03-08 9:54:00" are sorted after pictures with "EXIF: Create date" "2026-03-08 12:25:00" if "Sort by EXIF: Create date, ascending" is selected.

Expected behaviour: Pictures are sorted by "EXIF: Create date" ascending or descending as selected.

On Windows, sort by exif:datetaken works correctly in 1.10.4.

It looks to me like the images sort correctly. But the data you are giving us is not the best. The images you have uploaded are not originals, and show evidence that something has altered the exif, because Date Taken != Date Digitized. Since these are NOT the exact same images you are reporting the bug about, they are not suitable. If there’s supposedly something wrong with how the app is handling exif Date Taken, we need to see real data.

Please post links to four (that's enough to do the job) original unmodified jpegs with intact exif that prove the problem.

Pierre was also asking for you to post a screenshot of these images being mis-sorted in Details View. (View->View As->Details).
Details view will make things much more obvious.
