SMB/CIFS slow folder treeview, Fedora 43

Post by Nikos »

Hello Team,

I have a pretty large photo collection, splitted in each year/month/day subfolders, those folders/files are hosted on a CIFS/SMB nas share (on a 10Gb network), mounted via a .mount file

When browsing my main folder, I can see all subfolders in the Folders left panel, when I start to scroll down to my desired subfolder, XNView start to freeze and I can hear my NAS HDDs ramping up.

I work mainly with linux OSes (Fedora 43), I installed XNview through flathub. To be noted using "native" linux application, I do not see this kind of behaviour.

To be also noted, when using Affinity Photo on wine, I have the same behaviour when just browsing main folder.

I tried ART and did not have this behaviour.

Regards,

Nikos
