Bulk add Captions

Is it possible to add a Caption to multiple images at once without changing all other metadata in the files? When I tried to add a Caption to multiple files I recieved the warning Are you sure you want to overwrite IPTC/XMP data for ALL files with the current values of the fields?

- Select at least 2 photos
- In "Edit Iptc" (or Edit XMP) , tick "Don't load field values" (bottom right of the dialog)
- In "options" tab , tick "Keep original value if new value is empty"
So, when this dialog window is used on a set of photos, the content of metadata are not displayed (empty fields) and then only fields that you fill will be written
BUT
two ways :
A photo is shown in preview > type a caption > click "Write" > Only this caption will be entered in a single photo
Even if there is a photo shown, if you click "Write to all files" > the caption you entered will overwrite captions of all photos selected
