Good morning/afternoon/evening,
I wanted to access a very large directory with over 4 TBs of data mostly consisting of photos and videos. Previously, I didn't have too many issues accessing this directory as I had this data on a drive directly connected to my PC. I have since moved that data to a NAS.
When first accessing this directory over the network, XnView MP was having trouble just opening it as everything was organized into their own subfolders by artist. After viewing viewtopic.php?t=33220, I disabled the "Create thumbnails for whole folder" setting and I was able to quickly load all of the subfolders in the directory. However, when attempting to "Show files in subfolders", XnView MP again froze for multiple minutes before I gave up and force closed the program.
To see what was happening, I tested "Show files in subfolders" on a much smaller, but moderately sized directory and noticed that XnView MP seemed to load some basic information of all files (name, image/video dimensions, timestamp, etc.) with a placeholder thumbnail before lazy loading thumbnails on an additional pass.
Is it possible to lazy load all files in general and not just thumbnails?
Lazy load all files and not just thumbnails?
