I am using 1.10.5 on Apple Silicon Mac, MacOS 15.7.5.
Two problems concerning the Metadata | Edit EXIF command:
1. There is no place to add the Shutter speed. Note that the F-number and Focal length are there though. I have lots of old photos that have lost some or all of the EXIF data and I am trying to add it back.
2. When in the browser and an image is selected this is what we get when we look at the Metadata menu:
But if we double click on the image to see it full screen and we look at the Metadata menu we see this:
Note that Edit EXIF is missing among many other differences.

Re: Edit EXIF problems
These are not bugs, simply design choices/shortcomings.
But I agree, the following should be addressed:
1. Add EXIF:ExposureTime to "Edit EXIF"
2. Add "Edit EXIF" to Viewer->Metadata menu
3. Add cmd_editEXIF to available commands for Viewer Context Menu
3. Add cmd_editEXIF to available commands for Viewer toolbar
It will be the Exposure Time field and not EXIF:ShutterSpeedValue that is added.

Re: Edit EXIF problems
Thank you for your reply. I was not sure where to post this.
I hope these items, particularly adding the shutter speed, will happen soon. I am right in the middle of updating some old photos and as it stands the shutter speed is blank.

Re: Edit EXIF problems
I can't make any promises for the timeline, but I would not expect it to be months.
In the meantime, you can still add the metadata you want.
Simply use the Add/Replace Metadata function you'll find on the Metadata menu. Add the EXIF:Exposure Time field in the dialog box, enter the value, and click "Write". You can do that to many files at once if you want, just select them all in the browser first.
That function will replace any existing value it finds in the fields you're setting. It doesn't "edit"; just as the name says, it adds or replaces metadata.
Hopefully this helps...
