[1.11.5] "Extensions to ignore" does not work at "Find similar files..."

Post by Petibite »

Version: XnView MP 1.11.5 [10169] 64-bit (Jun 29 2026) - Libformat 7.240 (Windows)
OS: Windows 11 Pro 24H2 26100.8655

Steps for reproduction:
  1. Make a folder on your drive and gather some .jpg and .json files in it. (For example, download a Google Takout file from Google Photos.)
  2. Duplicate some .jpg and .json files in the folder.
  3. Open XnView MP and go to Tools › Find similar files...
  4. Select the folder where you gather your .jpg and .json files.
  5. Check Same filename option in the Method section.
  6. Type the following string into the Extension to ignore (separated by a space) field: "json zip".
  7. Click on the OK button.
  8. Check the results.

Just passing by...

I had the same question. I put a batch of RAR or ZIP files and their unzipped folders (containing JPGs) in the same folder (e.g., D:\download).

I expected that using the "Find Similar Files" function would show 100% of all comparison images, but in reality, only a few sets of images were found, which obviously doesn't work.
