Bug: XnConvert Colour Scheme/Style resets itself

I've come across a peculiar UI in XnConvert. It exists in 1.112, 1.114 and 1.115.

Reproduction steps:
1. Download XnConvert -> https://www.xnview.com/download.php?fil ... in-x64.zip
2. Start XnConvert for the first time:

BUG: The top says "XnView MP" despite this being XnConvert.
TYPO: It should read "Programmstart" in German.
Notice that you get 4 colour scheme choices: Standard, Light, Dark and Black -> Select Black
3. Click OK

Notice that the colour scheme is True Black, but this choice has vanished from the selection list
4. Close XnConvert
5. Run XnConvert for a second time

Notice how the colour scheme reverted from Black to Standard

For all following runs, XnConvert stays in Standard mode instead of True Black mode.
It's not possible to go back to True Black over the UI.
The only solution I've found is editing the .ini file and setting

but this only works for exactly one run, because the .ini also resets itself.
