Can anyone explain what the following do when multiple files are selected and how they interact with "Don't load field values", in Metadata > Edit IPTC?
• Keep and add new value
• Keep original value if new value is empty
• Replace only if original value is empty
They all the sound identical to me. I just need them defined in sentences. There's so much vagueness in the wording I can't even list it all here, but just for example:
"Keep" what in #1? The values that exist in each file?
How is "keep" in #1 different from "keep original" in #2 and 3? It implies there's some distinction otherwise #1 would say "keep original" too but I can't think of what it could be.
What is being "replaced" in #3? It seems to be saying the field in the existing file is empty but if it's empty then there's nothing to replace. You can only replace if something's already there but it also seems to be saying nothing's there but then it'd say "write", not "replace". I must be missing something.
