Fossify gallery for example has this feature.

I have many folders on my miro sd card which have the same equal first word e.g. holiday 2025, holiday 2024, summer 2023, Summer 2025
The name part with the date or year is different. So it would be nice to filter them to see how many folder are on the storage or to seek for a special picture folder e.g. christmas. A single word search would be enough.

I'd like to use the filter feature in the album view, but unfortunately it's not available there. It would be useful for me there, if possible.

My goal is to see the folder names and thumbnails for all folders named "Vacation."
That would make it easier for me to choose.

I often search for folder names

In Gallery view it works easily with "Filter", but my gallery view is slow, it refreshes about 20s on each display change . 2 or 3 searches need 1 or 2 minutes to wait
(75000 photos)

In Folders view, Filter doesn't work because files are not displayed by default. (I can search first for 'jpg', and then all the photos are displayed and the filter works, but it is as slow as 1st method)

So I must use Search in folders view.

Search " Parent folder" works only on upper level of folders (years, in my own folders organization)
Search "Albums" seems working, but I think this method doesn't work on folders that contain only folders...
So I need to search on Albums OR Parent folder , containing a criteria

Maybe a solution would be to add a "Full path" field in "file" metadata

Sorry, bad explanation, searches are fast enough. 1.0.59.

I was moving from "Albums" view to "Folders" view or "Gallery" view, and automatic refreshing takes sometimes more than 20s

Search, yes. Works fine.
But Filter works only on displayed photos (not recursive in sub folders)
So we must first find a way to display a set of photos, then we can use filters
e. g. Search for parent folder containing '2023'
Then filter on 'birds'
... Works fine

A bit more difficult if i don't know which year to search in, or if "birds" folder is inside another folder (2023/holidays/birds)
