Windows 11 Fluent dark theme for XnView MP

Hi all,

XnView MP 1.12 moved to Qt 6, and Qt 6 comes with a native Windows 11 style. I built a theme on top of it that makes XnView look and feel like a native Windows 11 app.

What you get
  • Native Windows 11 controls: check boxes, radio buttons, number boxes, dropdowns with rounded flyouts
  • Settings pages laid out as Windows 11 cards, tabs with an accent "pill", filled accent OK button
  • Rounded menus and tooltips
  • Windows 11 style toolbar icons (Segoe Fluent Icons) for both default toolbars
  • Dark thumbnail tiles and preview panel
  • Everything follows your Windows accent color
Requirements
  • Windows 11
  • XnView MP 1.12 or newer (the Qt 6 version)
Install
  1. Close XnView MP (File > Quit).
  2. Download the zip below, right-click it > Properties > tick Unblock > OK, then extract it.
  3. Double-click Install.cmd.
  4. Start XnView MP.
The installer backs up your current files first. It keeps your toolbar layout (it only adds icons - your own custom icons stay) and changes only the theme-related settings (Theme = Custom, thumbnail colors). Uninstall.cmd restores everything.

The toolbar icons are generated on your PC from its own Windows icon font, so no Microsoft files are redistributed. The scripts are plain PowerShell - feel free to read them before running.

Good to know
  • Changed your Windows accent color? Run Install.cmd again.
  • Picking another preset in Settings > General > Theme resets the thumbnail colors - run Install.cmd again.
  • XnView also shows a custom toolbar icon in the matching menu item, so menus mix Fluent and classic icons.
  • Portable XnView: run install.ps1 with -ConfigDir "path to your XnView settings folder".
Feedback and suggestions are welcome - especially icon ideas for commands that have no exact Windows 11 equivalent (Resize, Lossless transformations, Include subfolders).
