I would like to report a file-locking issue that occurs quite frequently, especially with video files.
Sometimes XnView appears to trigger video playback or video preview in the background without making it very obvious to the user. When this happens, the selected video file may remain locked by XnView.
This causes problems when trying to move files. In many cases, XnView is able to copy the file to the destination folder, but it cannot delete the original file because the source video file is still locked. As a result, what should have been a Move operation effectively becomes a Copy operation, leaving the original file behind.
The problem is especially easy to reproduce when using two XnView windows or two image-viewer instances at the same time.
For example:
1. In the first XnView window, select several files, including some video files.
2. Copy or move those files to another location using a second XnView window.
3. If one of the video files has been selected or previewed in the first window, XnView may keep the file handle open.
4. The file can be copied successfully to the destination, but the original file cannot be deleted because it is still locked by the first XnView instance.
This happens quite frequently when browsing folders containing both images and videos.
I suggest adding an option to completely disable automatic video playback / video preview, or otherwise ensure that XnView immediately releases the video file handle when the user is no longer actively playing the file.
Ideally, simply selecting a video file in the browser should not cause the file to remain locked.
This would make file move operations much more reliable, especially for users who frequently work with multiple XnView windows or instances.
