I reported some time ago that the Mezich icons showed (ugly) black backgrounds on my laptop, whose display only works at 16 or 24 bits. The backgrounds of the icons should be transparent to let the toolbar background show through, but aren't on those color depths.
The fix was easy, don't know why I hadn't tried it before:
0. Close XNView.
1. Go into the Mezich folder.
2. There are four bmp files there.
3. Open Browser32.bmp and Main32.bmp in an editor (such as PhotoFiltre).
4. Fill the black backgrounds of those bitmaps with the color 255,0,255.
5. Save both files.
You're done. The Mezich skin will now display properly in XNView at 16bits.
I have no idea why the Mezich "32" icons have black backgrounds... the other Mezich icon set has the correct "pink" backgrounds.

Re: Fix for Mezich black backgrounds @ 16bits

• Cannot the 32-bit BMP have its own transparency colour set as "black" ? If true, in the case the "Magenta-pink" demanded by XnView like it's indicated HERE could not take precedence … ?…I have no idea why the Mezich "32" icons have black backgrounds... the other Mezich icon set has the correct "pink" backgrounds.
- Just a thought…
