tile images with rows and columns

Post by Tommy »

actually you can tile images in the viewer page either orizontally or vertically.

i'd like an option to tile images ina 3x2, 4x2 etc. format just like it happens in the browser mode with thumbnails

do you think is possible?

Create contact sheet.

Or first create fe. horizontal stripes and then join them vertically.

thanks for your reply but probably i didn't explain correctly what i want.

i need to open multiple images and to copy them on the clipboard with Ctrl+C.

so if i have 10 opened images i have to click on each of the 10 tabs to copy them. this is tiem consuming

an alternative is to tile the windows, so i have all the pics shown simultaneosly on the same page and i can ctrl+c each one without having to select their tab each time.

the problem is that tile function is good if you open few images (4 or 5).
but is not that good is you open more images.
this is because tiling happens only in a vertical or orizzontal manner.

so if you open 10 images and tile them, you split the page in 10 subwindows and the images become very small.

what i ask is a tiling in row and colums.
for example: open 8 images and tile them.
with the current tiling metod you split the window in 8 parts and the images gets very small.
with a rows and column tiling method you cold have a 4x2 format, resulting in a better hanndling of the space of the window with bigger images.

i hope i've been clearer this time... pardon me if my english is not perfect...

OK, I misunderstood you.
I am afraid that tiling is made by MDI, beyond XnView control. But I think only Pierre can address your problem.
