Support for overlay histogram display
Why
It is useful for determining if photo is suitable for futher processing.
It can also help select the "best" shots or "disposable" shots, especially if many exposures for the same subject have been taken.
It is difficult to spot such characterestics, especially if monitor is not calibrated and properly lit.
How
Semi-transparent area overlayed on preview, view or fullscreen.
Options
- display on preview/view/fullscreen - yes or no, separately for every mode. I think it is enough for the options below to be set for all modes together.
- display of composite, RGB or both histograms
- histograms as solid areas or lines, line thickness configurable (pixels)
- colour of histogram background can be set
- transparency can be set separately for histograms and background
- location can be set to 8 positions (corners and middles of sides) of display area
- histogram size can be set in abosolute numbers (pixels) or percentage of display area
- show/hide with a key

Re: Histogram display for all modes
Hi Pierre
I vote for overlay HISTOGRAM too. It would be great to see small histogram e.g. in full screen mode. BTW the size of the histogram, style and transparency could be various.
Another suggestion -- I often use "logarithmic" histogram in GIMP. Can you make XnView switch between linear and logarithmic histogram?
Thanx

Histogram overlay in fullscreen ala the 4 part ones we have in-camera would be nice
the line-ones in the preview I find hard to read
maybe lines too thin ?
