View *.log, config.sys in ASCII

Post by brotondi »

Hi

I still use XnView 1.21 for this purpose.
And even binary files are sometimes more interesting to view in Ascii (embedded Text)

Why don't you re-enable this nice feature from 1.21 "Show Content in Ascii"?

Greetings, Bruno

Well, I always think it's a pity to delete features... of course it's possible to disable them by default, but why take away the possibility to enable them?

äh... and btw since 10'000 use XnView I'm sure every feature is used by some of them, even the smallest ones ;)

Enjoy programming! (and Family, Friends, ... Children?)

I also had this idea, but when implementing it in my programs I realiced how much extra-work it uses... every button has this flag, ... positions must be updated and are non-fix...

But of course a good idea, even if I prefer to spend my time on other features...

Another Idea is a own "Advanced Settings"-Folder... but since it grows continuously the mess inside would grow until there are also sub-folders.... and at least we have two setting-Folders and we always have to see if the feature i search is advanced or not... so back to the idea above...

btw. I added my little girl as avatar :) ... so I don't forget to spend my time usefull :D

So: Thanks to Pierre for all his work - especially sorting all our ideas, suggestions, tips, hints, ... ;)
