What is Cache for ?? Should I disable caching or enable it ?

What is Cache for ?? Should I disable caching or enable it ?

I have XNView 1.82.4. In options, in Browser category, I can see a setting for cache (which is enabled by default). What does this cache do ??? Should I disable it or keep it enabled ???

Hey thanx XnTriq so much..... answered all my questions regarding cache .... :D ....... But now I also have one more question.... I need to resize (to smaller) my pictures a lot as I have to email em to my cousins etc. Which is the best resampling filter when resizing the pictures... thankyou....
