Just noticed that when viewing an image with IrfanView and XnView (e.g. in full screnn view, with the image resized to the screen size), the quality of IrfanView is slightly but clearly noticable better than XnView's quality.
Since I would prefer XnView, as it is the better tool IMHO, I would suggest to change this.
Thanks in advance,
Dieter

Re: Display quality of images
With which picture can you see that? Your screen has which resolution? Do you have enable 'high quality?dieter wrote:Just noticed that when viewing an image with IrfanView and XnView (e.g. in full screnn view, with the image resized to the screen size), the quality of IrfanView is slightly but clearly noticable better than XnView's quality.

I'm not sure which filter XnView uses if "High quality" is activated, but it's definetely a good filter and not bilinear.Xip wrote:Irfanview uses Lanczos for resizing while Xnview uses something faster but with lower quality (=bilinear?). There is a feature request to implement an option for this in Xnview.
Please check if "Use high quality" is activated in Tools > Options > Browser > Preview.
