Wouldn't it be great if we could customize data showed in status bars?
Again, it could be an editable box where you can insert File/Date/EXIF/IPTC data, just like for Fullscreen>Show information. You should have one for Browser status bar and another for Viewer status bar.
Moreover, it would be better to add data about number of objects displayed, number of objects selected, total filesize, filesize of selection... for Browser. Some formatting items would also be welcome (align left, center, align right, visual separation, spacing, etc...)

But I realized that the Browser status is the fastest and smallest available information area (no need to move/wait for tooltip, no need to show labels for all thumbnails) -> just move selection and you would get immediate data feedback...
