Difference between Fit to desktop and Best Fit to desktop

Difference between Fit to desktop and Best Fit to desktop

What are the differences between this 2 options
if you want to set a new wallpaper
XNView 1.91.5
Windows XP SP3

That's simple. "Fit to desktop" is same as the fit to desktop in windows (windows does the scaling), but in "Best Fit to desktop" XnView pre scales the picture (probably with better algorithm).
