Select and Zoom?

Post by gallowsroad »

Hi,

Excellent program, my thanks to the author.

I used a much older version in the past, and after a complete WinXP reinstall, never added it back.

I have the latest version, and I wonder if I am remembering a small feature incorrectly. When I select part of a picture file, the cursor turns into a four way arrow, and I can move the selection box around the picture.

Wasn't there a way to make a selection and have the cursor turn into a zoom tool to zoom that portion of the picture?

If my memory is incorrect I apologize. :)

Your memory is correct, the behaviour changed in XnView 1.70 - see post Zoom selected area for more details.

Many thanks for the link - it answers my question exactly. The poster in that thread expressed a desire to have those two functions be controlled by a toggle function. I agree, but this is a very minor thing given how flexible and useful this program is.

Again, thanks for the prompt reply.
