Are you planning on getting this straight? Pretty much all of my files are reported with the wrong bit depth as soon as it's beyond 8bits per channel.
If not, then at least deactivate any file operations that could result in having your bit depth reduced without warning. That's really bad.

Re: Bit depth issues
XnView support only 8bit per component, 10-16-32 bits per component are readed and converted into 8bits.Danny wrote:Are you planning on getting this straight? Pretty much all of my files are reported with the wrong bit depth as soon as it's beyond 8bits per channel.

Pierre.
Ok. But:
1. If XNview is supposed to be able to display them, why doesn't it tell you the correct bit depth in the browser or the status bar? I got a couple of 48bit JP2 files for example, but XNView tells me they're 24bit.
2. What Troken said. It must not be that XNview silently converts the bit depth. To my knowledge it doesn't warn you anywhere, so how are ppl supposed to know?
