Is it possible to add speaking balloons to the images?
Is there a plugin that does this or is it a suggestion for future versions of XnView?

Thank you for the explanation, in French I think this is named "bulle".

Currently, speaking ballons are not supported by XnView. At the moment, the drawing facilities of XnView are very limited (insert text, only).

As written before, XnView is not the right choice for this.

When looking for a graphic program for adding speaking ballons, you should make sure that you find one that support objects and/or layers. This will allow you to modify and move the speaking ballons even after saving and reloading the image.
