EPS and Windows 2000

Hi. I have 2 Windows 2000 machines with libgfl254 and GhostScript 8.54 that will not load EPS files. It returns error 6, unknown format. The same file loads fine on Windows XP. I have also tried it with XnView with the same results (displays the image in XP, displays an error "format of the file <> could not be determined" on 2000). The images load fine in GSView on Windows 2000.

Has anyone else seen this?
