no,definately not a virus.
i did have this problem before w/ XnView & pierre did respond with
checking some setting in the program.
i could open the browser now in a folder and see the thumbnails & images ok.then if i exit & then re-open to that same folder a number of images will be unviewable when ...

i'm having a big problem losing images every time i re-open the browser.
jpegs that i have in folders suddenly become unviewable.
"no preview available" & the thumbnail appears as just a jpeg icon.
it's happening in every folder & i'm losing 20 or 30 images or more each day. properties do show the ...

thanks claude, what i needed to do was simply reset the layout in menu "View > Layout" back to the way i always had it. i do think that it's a minor bug when an update changes settings.

in the new version i now have a 3 pane view where before i had 2.
the directory/treeview was a narrow left pane & thumbnails were on the right.now i have a small treeview in the top left corner,blank below & the
usual thumbnails on the right 2/3.
i've checked all my settings & still i have this 3 ...

in 1.80 the real media vdo clips in the browser return an error,
"unable to determine format.rm"..i can rt click & select open with
Real Player & then it plays in real player. tedious.
before i simply clicked on the file & it opened & played in the RM Player.
the 1.80 version seems full of bugs at ...

but the refresh button is Not in the small toolbar above the files???
the only buttons are:
up one level/new folder/rename/delete/favorites
i don't even see in the options/toolbar where there is any choice for a
refresh button??
