OK. I got it now. I didn't realise one could put more than one field in the box (as well as text). It worked with a single image so I'll try with multiple images when I can.
Thanks for helping.

Re: Updating multiple keywords from other IPTC data
Thanks Pierre that seems to work. Is there a way of making the transferred data append to the existing data in a field as opposed to replacing it?

Re: Updating multiple keywords from other IPTC data
I would like to import location details (Location, City, State, Country) contained in IPTC fields within the image file into the IPTC keyword field(s). I had it in my head that XnView could do this but I was probably mistaken.

Updating multiple keywords from other IPTC data
I have many photos with location data in their relevant IPTC fields eg Country, State, Cit,y Locality. Is it possible, using the "insert from" or "Copy to" functionality in the Edit IPTC metadata option, to load this location data into the associated image keywords? I got as far as loading location ...

Re: XnView crashing on startup
Thank you Pierre. I have other .tif files created with the Nix collection which load without issue. So I don't know what is special about those files.

Re: XnView crashing on startup
Did you find it was an issue on your computer/s too? I thought it might have been just my setup. Corrupt file or clash with another running program.

Hi Pierre, I have just sent you an email with the files attached. I'm not sure all the files were an issue but at least one was.

Re: XnView crashing on startup
No further evidence that Nik is the problem. I can only think there was something odd about those four files. Neither putting them in a zip file nor renaming them away from the .tif extension resolved the issue. But deleting them altogether, XnView appears to be working fine.

OK hold your beers.

XnView crashing on startup
Hello,
I just reinstalled the current version (64 bit) of XnView MP on my computer after not using it for many months. I am installing it on a Windows 11 laptop.
The program is crashing on startup. It appears to be while loading the initial "Pictures" folder.
Any advice would be appreciated ...

Re: Visibility of thumbnails for folders containing no images
OK thank you. Great program btw. Have just returned to using it after while and I've just been checking out the alternatives but for my purposes it is still the best.
Cheers, Jeff

Visibility of thumbnails for folders containing no images
Is there a way of "hiding" the thumbnails of folders which do not contain images or subfolders which contain images?
Thank you
