Re: xnview.ini is stored in wrong place

I confirm that XnView MP 0.84 stores the INI file in the correct place -

Code: Select all

~/.config/xnviewmp/xnview.ini

Re: User system font

Which GUI toolkit does XnView MP use?
I don't have that font selected as my default font in KDE or Qt5. Gtk+ is set to use my KDE theme.

0.83 Linux: Still does not delete files from /tmp

XnView MP 0.83, if you put an image in /tmp and delete it from XnView MP it disappears from the interface but not from the disk.
Deleting from ~/whatever/ works.

KDE: XnView doesn't use user system font

In 2016 it is normal to configure one's font in the control panel, regardless whether that's in KDE, GNOME, Windows or other, and have programs use the user's chosen font in their interface, and use the user's chosen monospace font for monospace interface elements. However XnView MP seems to have a ...

Release practices - include version in tarball name

Hello

Please include the version number in your release tarballs. Preferably in the filename, but in the folder name will do. The current practice of using the exact same path and filename for a new release causes hell for package maintainers, it's a bad practice.
Go to the XnView MP 0.83 ...

0.81 Linux: Cannot delete images from /tmp

Hello

Using 0.81 in Linux, one cannot delete images in the /tmp folder.

1. Select an image in /tmp, for example /tmp/foo.jpg
2. Delete it using Edit > Delete or using the "delete" key. The file disappears.
3. Press F5. The file is back. I confirm its there from a console.

Deleting works in the ...

Re: Default profile for picture: use profile from picture

I see. Then the frame title must be changed because it's deceptive.
I suggest changing "Default profile of picture" to "Fallback profile", and adding a label inside the frame, above the "None" option, "Use this profile if the image contains no embedded profile:"
Then it will be completely clear.

Re: Default profile for picture: use profile from picture

It is hard for me to give a 100% correct answer if I don't see the code. You haven't told us what "None" means. Maybe just renaming "None" to "Use embedded profile" is enough.

Re: Default profile for picture: use profile from picture

you would like to set a input profile for the picture file even if it contains one? ...Having the 4 options is better (because none is not really none if an embedded profile exist).
so a setting like 'always use default icc profile'?
No, "always use default icc profile" doesn't mean anything, it ...

Default rendering intent should be Relative Colorimetric

The default monitor profile rendering intent should be Relative Colorimetric. Using anything else could lead to wrong colors unexpectedly. The "unexpectedly" part is the keyword here. If the monitor profile contains no perceptual gamut mapping, you won't see a difference, but if it does, then for ...
