Re: Importing keywords from list
I am not a developer and do not have time to start getting involved in XnView Support. I asked for the minimum amount of information in order to set up this program correctly. The replies have come in fits and starts and have not added up to enough consistent information and guidance. There appears ...

Re: Importing keywords from list
I explained all this to you in my other thread titled 'setting up keywords and categories'. I have just about given up on the idea of using this program as the feedback is so minimum and insufficient. Your answers would be fine on a telephone conversation but not for a support forum.

Re: Importing keywords from list
I have just tried again, by selected some photos first, then a category and I got the menu you were talking about. Since we have already uploaded the category list to the wrong place once, I would appreciate step-by-step instructions on how to import it into the right place.

Re: Autoload keywords list possible?
If you look at the last couple of messages on my other post titled 'Setting up Xnview - Categories and keywords' you will see that my Category Pane is not as it should be. The instructions I received to add a search bar seem to me to be aimed at a programmer, which I am not. As you are the author of ...

Re: Setting up Xnview - Categories and keywords
Thank you for all your comments.
I am not a programmer, I do not really understand what I have to do in order to have a complete Category pane.
I have freed the layout but am not prepared to spend hours correcting an incomplete version. Should I delete and re-install another version?

Thank you for your reply.
Yes, please, can you tell me how the categories imported inside the Edit Metadata face can be synced with the Categories pane in XnView's database? The file was a text file, formatted with tabulations.

Re: Setting up Xnview - Categories and keywords
You instructed someone else to use tabulations in the text file so we did, they take an enormous amount of space and ended up in the wrong place. Are you using tabs or spaces?
Can you show me an image of the where I can find this 'import category file' please? I cannot find it.

Re: Autoload keywords list possible?
We would like to import this list of keywords/categories which we have saved on a text file with tabulations as you instructed another user. How and where should we import this list ?
If there is a hierarchy in the category list, how would the category sets be useful?
Thank you in advance.

Re: Setting up Xnview - Categories and keywords
Can you please tell me exactly where I can import a keyword list please? We have imported this text file but it does not appear on the list of Categories/keywords, it seems to be stuck somewhere.
Thank you in advance.

Re: Setting up Xnview - Categories and keywords
How do you save a photo or several photos into a category set? I've tried and nothing seems to work. Sorry for posting so many questions.

Re: Setting up Xnview - Categories and keywords
If keywords are simple categories, why don't the keywords added to a photo inside 'Edit Metadata' add to the list of Categories on the left bar?
When you add a keyword/Category directly on the category list, when does it move to its place alphabetically?
