XnView: Star rating doesn't work?? File have no rating?hpu wrote:Dear Pierre,
I have just downloaded the basic version of Xnview and the categories work find but the star ratings doesn't function at all. I then downloaded XnViewmp (French) and as soon as I started testing the categories function the program crashed repeatedly. I have now spent 3 hours (at a friend's house with a PC) testing these programs and do not feel safe installing & teaching this program this for my non-profit. I only have MAC at home, does the xnvewmp work as well on a Mac? I know that the classic Xnview is useless on a Mac. Can you give some advice on how to install a stable version please?
Thank you.
0.72 is the same on PC and MAChpu wrote:Ratings didn't work at all in the basic XnView. I'm now at home on a Mac and dowloading the Mac MP version, how similar is to the PC MP version?

I think it might be easier for Pierre to provide support if he has time in French...hpu wrote:... I think I need Pierre to reply fully to my questions regarding setting up category sets though as well as the principles of of saving and archiving. I would appreciate a complete reply this morning please.
In 'Categroy sets' panelhpu wrote: By pressing the Manager... button in the top-left corner, you can create more custom category sets which will be shown by default under the system-managed sets. The Category Sets manager has all the necessary tooling to manage your sets. Exactly where is this manager button?
Suggested are based on your previous added categories, so at startup it will be emptyIn 'groupe de categories' I have Attribué/Historique or Suggérés. Even though I have already added some categories, in this pane, everything is empty, why? Can you explain the saving / archiving process? How should cataloguing information be saved and backed up to XnView?
