Re: Random crashes when playing MP4 video in separate tab and going to next file on 1.6.2 (Windows, x64)

I tried the 1.64 portable beta Version you linked me to in private messages. Not sure if the bug is fully fixed, but I could not trigger a single crash/freeze. When switching back to 1.63 (the one which is still installed on my Computer) I could always trigger a crash (always after around 3-5min of ...

Sorry, I was kinda away, couldnt test that Beta Version. But 1.6.3 is out now. It still crashes for me. Not sure if the frequency of the crashes changed, though. But yeah, now and then it still happens. (OS: windows 10, 64bit, with most recent updates from december 2023 cumulative)

EDIT: If there ...

I dont think so. I cant remember when I updated to v1.6.2. Maybe I had 1.6.0 for longer and then skipped 1.6.1 (so, not sure if my previous version was 1.6.0 oder 1.6.1). But yeah, in previous version i had none of these issues.

Same here.

Usually I can browser pictures in the viewer for longer. But whenever I reach video files, there is a chance for Xnview to freeze and crash. If I should guess, the chance is like around 20%-30% maybe for this to happen. Not sure about the exact requirements for this bug.

Re: 1.4.0: Crash after having read a MOV file

I can also reproduce it every time. When closing a Tab that displayed a video once, it crashes.
Same happens with Browser Tab. If I click on a video, and then close the Browser Tab, it crashes, too. Autoplay is off for me. Videos play, there is no problem with the playback. Only the tab closing ...

Re: 1.4.0: Crash after having read a MOV file

If it helps: I can confirm this bug.

I tested different ways to see if it can be avoided. Here some examples what I did:

In a folder, I had one mp4 (video) file and 10 images files.

1. I doubled clicked an image, opened in the browser, closed the tab: No crash

2. I double clicked a video ...

Re: view - auto image size not working

For "Auto image size" (correct: Auto zoom") there is a temporary setting and a permanent setting. Temporary setting is set in Image mode > View > Auto image size". The permanent setting is set in "Tools > Settings | View > View". By default, permanent setting is set to "Last used" which makes ...

view - auto image size not working [solved]

hi.

i can only set auto image size to "fit to window". even if i select "only large images", it workjs once for the current image i am viewing, but the moment i navigate to the next image (with arrow keys) then it reverts back to "fit image to window size" (not "large only" anymore).

Re: Split images without quality loss

first of all thanks for answering.

my apologizes. i think i made a mistake. i used another software that could re-collage the split images (since i wanted a different order than the original images). looks like i compared that new collage file (made with the split images) with the original image ...

Split images without quality loss

Hi
Does anyone know how to use the split image tool without any quality loss?

Lets say i am cutting an images with a grid of 8x5. i usually save them as PNG, compression lvl 0, interlaced unchecked and no filters and without keeping any data (like exif and stuff).

When the job is done, i compared ...
