Re: Rating not saved when file is moved between folders
Rating comes from XnViewMP only. Currently it seems to be working with catalog disabled. Should I test it with catalog enabled again?
yes please
It seems like disabling catalog deletes your original catalog, is this normal?
after testing it seems to work, maybe the catalog was corrupted ...

Very strange behavior unfortunately

Re: Rating not saved when file is moved between folders
Update 3:
Seems like everything works after disabling catalog, I will do some more testing
edit:
Seems like that works but there's another issue where the displayed rating is not the same as the metadata.
For example:
- Set img.jpg rating to 5 [The properties says "5 star"]
- Move img.jpg to ...

Re: Rating not saved when file is moved between folders
Second Update:
Editing the "IPTC-IIM" > Option > Mode
and changing "XMP only" to "IPTC-IIM update XMP"
seems to fix that.
Is there a way for XnViewMP to auto update this for me?

Re: Rating not saved when file is moved between folders
Update:
It seems like rating is saved when moving between folders ONLY when the image shows the "ICC" and "IPTC" icons on the image (since I have some files already tagged externally)
For some reason updating the ratings in XnView will not create ICC or IPTC on the image though.

Rating not saved when file is moved between folders
Hi, I have the catalog enabled and "export rating in xmp metadata".
When I drag a file (within XnView MP) to another folder it does not save the rating.
I can reproduce this by doing the following:
1. rate a file (ie "4")
2. Drag the file out of the current folder into the parent folder
The file ...

Thumbnail loading performance
Hi everyone,
I have a lot of images in the .lepton format (compressed jpg that requires some cpu to decompress), and was noticing pretty poor performance loading large folders with a lot of lepton images.
I was wondering if there was a way to increase performance, I have an i9-10850k and see that ...

Re: Quick Search XMP Subject
Could this be considered for a future update? Being able to automatically tag images is quite amazing, would love to be able to use xnview with this feature!

Quick Search XMP Subject
Hi, I just have one quick question,
Is there any way to use the "quick search" bar to search XMP subject?
I know the Ctrl+F menu has an option for that, but is there a way to get the quick search to do that as well?
It currently can search for IPTC tags, but PNG doesn't support that.

Re: 0.97.1 Windows 10 show files in subfolder crash
Nope, not even a crash dialog. Usually it takes 3~ seconds after pressing show files in subfolder

0.97.1 Windows 10 show files in subfolder crash
Using the show files in subfolder option in XnViewMP causes it to close unexpectedly without any crash report.

I swear I tried this before but changing Region settings and enabling beta UTF-8 support has fixed it!

Re: 0.95 Windows 10: Lepton files with unicode names cannot be opened
Any ideas of what I can try changing/ different settings in windows maybe? It's very strange. (switching to us locale and enabling the "beta unicode" feature did not work either)
