I have the same issue, even though the exclude filter has "htm html mht mhtml xml xhtml eml nws url", but it doesn't work even after having removed all of them.
I'm on Linux. Any dependencies that I should make sure are installed in the system?

As of XnView version 0.96 64bits (Mar 20 2020) with Libformat version 7.40 TIFF files compressed sing the LZMA compression method cannot be viewed in XnView, nor their metadata can be viewed or edited.
