@xnview The tooltip concern described by cicciobello is a known issue as you state but presumably the thumb labels item I originally raised is not (maybe at a programming level they are related I don't know obviously). Would you like me to raise it as a bug?
For info I use embedded XMP data, not ...

Re: XMP Thumb labels
Hi,
Yes, just double checked and it is set to TRUE.
I tried XMP in Tooltips and it works correctly there.
Thanks,
Marc

Re: XMP Thumb labels
Having spent some time playing around I've found out that the custom fields in the Thumbnails - Labels setting can be used to show XMP information.
I assumed that because they didn't pre-exist as a choice that it was not possible.

Re: Metadata - Edit GPS data: .original file being created
Having now bothered to search the forum, I see a similar question was asked last year.
Deselecting 'Make backup...' options under 'File operations' has stopped the .original files (presumably as writing to EXIF is considered as a lossless operation.

XMP Thumb labels
Hi,
As part of preferring an embedded XMP only workflow (to do with using Android to also update synced photos metadata) it would be great to be able to use XMP fields as thumb labels.
When searching for this I found a previous discussion that suggested it was not possible, but I believe from a ...

Metadata - Edit GPS data: .original file being created
Hi,
Per the above title, I've just found out about the Edit GPS data function, but when I use it a ".original" file and folder are created.
I can't see any options to turn this .original creation off, but it is something I would certainly like to be able to do (in the same way as all other ...

Re: Search for 'holiday photos from 2020'
you want the result of saved search request, and not open each time the Search dialog, right?
Hi,
Not the OP but this would be very useful for me. For less complex searches (i.e. where filtering is sufficient), which is more likely for me actually, it would probably be more convenient to have ...
