I have a strange bug on one computer, but not on the second (Win11 Home).
When I click add new folder [F7] and start to type name this new folder, after few chars it is clear and will back text "Nowy folder" ("New folder") :shock:

It's hard to reproduce this issue.
I have an open tab with miniatures and several tabs with images.
When I close XnV, when I have a miniature view, and open the program again, there is no error. When I close the program with a specific photo in the tab, the bug one time is, and the other time is not.

I'm so sorry, but bug is only partly fixed.
- I don't have this bug if folder window is set to favorite.
- When I change window to all folders, then I close XnV and open again first image is open ok, but close app and open again open image in windows app.
As You see now it is more complex bug

From long, long, long time, when I open XnV and in browser mode I double-click in FIRST image, it is open with association program (MS Photo), not in new tab.

On a second computer with Win11 I don't have this problem.

JXL always is 444
WEBP lossy always is 420
AVIF and HEIC you have info in ExifTool tab

It is as I suspected. The JPG file is very compressed, with this all typical JPG artifacts. 27 KB WEBP is a copy of JPG file. I can compress this JPG to WEBP file to 15 KB and the quality will not be very different from this 27 KB, and seemingly even it can be better, because it will reduce some JPG ...

The question is, what do you want to use pictures for?

I did a lot to compare whether it is a lossless packing or lossy. Webp files were always smaller than JPG, with comparable ...

Maybe AVIF files do not have an ICC profile, but they have metadata that indicate the use of HDR with a specific profile.
Is it not possible to make an adequate color correction for a used monitor on this basis?
