Rating/Label for RAW is only saved in Catalog, currently can't be changed in RAW itself


Is there way to save only the rating in external .XMP sidecar file or could you make it happen perhaps this could have solved the problem as Photoshop always prioritize sidecar .XMP files over what is ...

If set rating 3 star (Ctrl+3) then open in Adobe Camera Raw and do some edits to DNG then rating is lots upon saving changes.

If set rating in Adobe Camera Raw say rating 1 star then save edits it shows rating 1 star in XnViewMP however if for same image set rating 3 star in XnViewMP and open in ...

Bug fixed, thanks a lot it was driving me crazy.

1. open folder "A" in thumbnail view
2. Switch to full screen view for single image
3. Press Ctrl+S and save JPG to folder "B"
4. Switch back to thumbnail and i am now inside folder "B" thumbnail view.

Is there option to not auto-switch active directory to destination where saving JPG?

If i restart xnviewmp shows updated preview when instantly when loaded.

Yes both DNG's have Orientation: Rotate 270 CW

FastStone, ACDSee Photo Studio, Photoshop Adobe Camera RAW displays both original.dng and cropped.dng with proper orientation problem only in XnView MP.

strange i'm not able to reproduce...


I only able to get this bug in the middle of workflow, don't know exactly how it happens, but once hotkey stops working only way to make it work again is either close external program that was triggered by hotkey e.g. Photoshop or use right click menu to run ...

1. DNG image with portrait orientation shows fine in full screen view and thumbnail
2. DNG is cropped from vertical to become horizontal image
3. DNG shows rotated 90° in both preview and thumbnail.

Same cropped DNG shows with proper horizontal orientation in other image viewers so must be bug in ...

Please consider this feature it really a game changer no other viewer has it.

and that A7Info utility does not support opening individual files with it, its not possible to assign it to Open With menu.

Also that utility it does not support DNG files at all, and i convert all my raws to DNG.

Yes, but not sure if going back and forth just one file or several files is required.

Sometimes however even going to thumbnails then full screen and rotating several files back does not update view.

I still can't find a way to reproduce this, but i get this bug too often.

Only reliable fix is to right click and select Open With > Photoshop (Alt+1) then it always opens and after that Alt+1 starts to work again.

Please inspect code for some reason Alt+1 stops working after window re-focused or ...

2. Then open with Photoshop using Open With menu and edit then save and close
