And there are often problems while watching them - especially when looking through/zapping through the videos. That often ...

Is it a known issue, that mp4-files can not be renamed within the filelist/F2? How can i solve this problem?
Well everything else works fine for me.
But i'm having some problems with mp4 files.

Re: Irregular freezes during video preview
No.
It is absolute irregular and unpredictable.
It's like playing lottery.
You can be a lucky and it works fine for some dozen vids - or you're unlucky and it freezes after 5 vids or so.
I can't recognize any scheme.
Even if i preview the same vids in the same order XnView doesn't behave the same ...

Re: MP4 videos not shown in XnView after installing ffdshow
After installing the Haali media splitter it works.
What i don't understand: the haali media splitter was included and installed with the k-lite codec pack.
While watching some vids it appeared at the taskbar.
Strange!
Thank you for your help!

Re: MP4 videos not shown in XnView after installing ffdshow
Yes, thats what i tried first.
Normally i only use ffdshow package.
But as that did not work properly, i tried the k-lite codec pack.
I uninstalled k-lite and installed ffdshow again - with "libavcodec" (its activated by default).
And of course it doesn't work either.

Re: MP4 videos not shown in XnView after installing ffdshow
Media Info shows me this information:
MPEG-4 (Base Media / Version 2)
1 video stream: AVC
1 audio stream: AAC
At "first video stream" it shows: 640x480@29,970fps, AVC (Baseline@L1.3] [3 Ref Frames)

128kbps, .... AAC (Version 4) (LC)

Re: MP4 videos not shown in XnView after installing ffdshow
No, i already tried to rename the extansion.
That doesn't work.
I guess there is a codec-problem.
But i don't know, how to solve it.

Re: MP4 videos not shown in XnView after installing ffdshow
Ok, now with my new system it doesn't work again.
I'm using Windows 7 Home premium 64bit and K-Lite 64 bit codec pack.
Are there any suggestions for solving this problem?
Or are there other codecs i could try?

Re: MP4 videos not shown in XnView after installing ffdshow
I have got the same problem.
Mp4 videos don't appear in the preview window.
I installed the latest ffdshow codec pack (ffdshow-rev3128_20091108_xxl) and also the latest xvid codec (Xvid 1.2.2.07062009)
Do i need another codec? Or do i have to activate the mp4-extension somewhere?
