Re: Video Preview - webm
Please add webm to the ffmpeg list so it is supported by thumbnails & previews. I would assume this is a pretty simple change? Not all XnView users also have FFmpeg, and XnView is mainly a picture viewer/organizer/editor, other media (audio, video, vector graphics) are not exactly in scope for ...

Re: 2.30 crash report for EPS
My XnView 2.13 was installed and XnView 2.30 was run from a portable folder, if that could be relevant???? Hard to tell, but you were right, it is not ONLY a problem with the INI file: After 2.30 apparently worked again, I copied most settings from the 2.24 INI, skipping all sections not (yet ...

Re: 2.30 crash report for EPS
Is that any help? Yes, apparently 2.30 is incompatible with 2.24 INI-files, it just crashed again when I tried to reproduce your settings, and it also "forgot" its old layout. For Windows 2000 I simply deleted the old INI-file, now trying the same for Windows 7... Yes, that works. Now I'll only ...

Re: XnView Shell Extension
Please change Copyright year to 2015 in About window (3.5.1, x64 version).
The 32bit version working in a Windows 2000 virtual machine also says 2012 without mail address, so that's a general build issue.
Maybe it's only me, because I installed the shell extensions "manually" (unregister, kill ...

2.30 crash report for JP2+J2K (solved)
On a Xiph.org Daala page I stumbled over an EPS file, and can open it with a PS viewer application (Ghostscript wrapper converting PS or EPS to PDF on the fly, displaying it with whatever displays PDF, an old Adobe reader 9.x in my case.) The standard action for EPS on my by box is "open with XnView ...

Re: Catch O' The Day
<-- Moderator's note: This post has been split off from “ Catch O' The Day ”. -->
Not a catch of the day, if I understand the purpose of this thread, but maybe a good catch for some XnView users, that does not need its own thread: Ken Silverman offers a new PNGOUT.EXE version 2015-02-13 . I can't ...

Re: XnView Shell Extension
I have XnView Shell Extension 3.00 running on a Windows 7 Pro 64-bit system. It was installed by an administrator (I don't have admin rights). That won't work, you need admin rights and a command line to run unregister.bat where you have the old XnViewShellExt64.dll. After that's done by somebody ...

Re: Replace GIF/PNG color reduction with libimagequant
Random observations: pngquant.org/ shows your examples and offers various tools. The PhotoShop plugin is an 8BI, XnView can't handle that (= supports only 32bit 8BF). To see what you are talking about I tested x128 cq.exe (color quantizer, there's a new version 2014-11-29, I still had the ...

Re: XnView browser: Ability to show/edit Recycle Bin content
please add this to make file management more convenient in xnview
Are you sure that this is possible? In essence you want to treat the bin like any other folder. I'm often unhappy that it only offers "restore", but not "move to another place". And I never dreamed of XnView outsmarting this thing ...

TweakPNG
Brilliant tool, I planned to add this to the "other software" forum as a thank you for lots of interesting links (today I read something about JPEG ELA forensics), but obviously you know TweakPNG already. I could post two scripts for the TweakPNG "tools" feature, combining PNGwolf+TruePNG ...

Re: PAM (portable arbitrary map)
do you have some samples? The infamous SignedShortLosslessBug.jpg published by the Grassroots DICOM project, MediaWiki and XnView cannot display it, but FFmpeg works: ffmpeg -i SignedShortLosslessBug.jpg SignedShortLosslessBug.pam The PAM header is: P7
WIDTH 512
HEIGHT 512
DEPTH 1

Re: PAM (portable arbitrary map)
do you have some samples? I saved your forum avatar as XnView.png, and converted it to PAM with... ffmpeg -hide_banner -i xnview.png -c:v pam -pix_fmt rgba xnview.pam The forum won't let me upload the XnView.pam, I put it into a ZIP and attached that as XnView.ZIP. The input PNG is 100x100 RGBA ...

Re: XnView multiple browser tabs?
I can't figure out how to get more than 1 browser tab so I can browse several different image collections. There is a Tabs (Ctrl+Shift+M) entry in the view menu, and if you can save modified options at all XnView will also start with your last Tabs setting. Sadly this doesn't work for Display ...
