Another interesting finding regarding this issue:
I played around with every combination of the settings "Enable navigation with left and right mouse buttons" and "Language" (which I switched between English and German). I did this before but this had no effect.
I just did it again and additionally ...

Re: ESC key for closing fullscreen view
And how do you do that, "returning from viewer to browser via ESC" (since that is what my question was about)?

ESC key for closing fullscreen view
I'm used to show an image in fullcreen by clicking with the middle mouse button and returning to the previous view by pressing Escape.
For whatever reason that doesn't work anymore and I always have to click the middle mouse button again to leave the fullscreen mode.
I can't remember that I changed ...

Re: .ABR format support
Highly seconded.
The current read support is a nice beginning but clicking through the frames doesn't give the needed overview. So a real browsing support would be a great step forwards.
btw.: There seems to be a bug in the brushes display: compared to what e.g. abrviewer displays, XnView shows ...

Re: Extend thumbnail cache to multiple sizes for the same folder
Pierre, do you see a chance for implementing something like this in a future version?

Re: Extend thumbnail cache to multiple sizes for the same folder
Thanks for listing the relevant threads, XnTriq!
As far as I can see, Pierre never commented one of the "different thumbnail sizes in cache"-requests.

Re: Extend thumbnail cache to multiple sizes for the same folder
Nobody said "infinite thumbs". The amount of caching would depend on how much different thumbnail sizes you use. If you prefer a certain size, nothing would change for you. For all the others this would be a huge speedup.

Extend thumbnail cache to multiple sizes for the same folder
I often switch the thumbnail size because I need the thumbnail preview for multiple purposes (general overview, preselection, etc).
Problem here is, that XnView only caches/stores the thumbnails for one size/folder combination.
That way, if I switch the thumbnail size for an already cached folder ...

Editing favourites cycles through all folders.
I'm using the "Favourites"-function (XnView 1.96) more and more and found one problem:
I have about 30 favourite folders. When I select e.g. the first one and choose "Edit Favourites" after clicking "Close" or hitting ESC XnView cycles through all of my favourite folders and updates the display ...

Menu icon for "Browse with XnView"
I often use the Shell-Extension (Right-Click > Browse with XnView).
Unfortunately on my system that menu is cluttered with a lot of items so "Browse with XnView" is hard to find.
Would it be possible to add an icon left to the menu item?
