Re: Extend thumbnail cache to multiple sizes for the same folder

Thanks for listing the relevant threads, XnTriq!
As far as I can see, Pierre never commented one of the "different thumbnail sizes in cache"-requests.

Re: Extend thumbnail cache to multiple sizes for the same folder

Nobody said "infinite thumbs". The amount of caching would depend on how much different thumbnail sizes you use. If you prefer a certain size, nothing would change for you. For all the others this would be a huge speedup.

Extend thumbnail cache to multiple sizes for the same folder

I often switch the thumbnail size because I need the thumbnail preview for multiple purposes (general overview, preselection, etc). Problem here is, that XnView only caches/stores the thumbnails for one size/folder combination. That way, if I switch the thumbnail size for an already cached folder, n...

Editing favourites cycles through all folders.

I'm using the "Favourites"-function (XnView 1.96) more and more and found one problem: I have about 30 favourite folders. When I select e.g. the first one and choose "Edit Favourites" after clicking "Close" or hitting ESC XnView cycles through all of my favourite folders and updates the display. Whe...

If this is irony and I'm not getting it I'm sorry, but what do you mean by "trying the shell extension"? Apart from the "Browse with XnView" functionality there's no functionality regarding folders I know of. The Shell Extension displays for image files and I use it a lot but I was referring to what...

Menu icon for "Browse with XnView"

I often use the Shell-Extension (Right-Click > Browse with XnView).

Unfortunately on my system that menu is cluttered with a lot of items so "Browse with XnView" is hard to find.

Would it be possible to add an icon left to the menu item?

Ok, thanks.
Do you know if there's any other freeware or trialware that can access the whole picture?

Microsoft Image Composer (.mic) images

The docs say that XnView can read (not write) the "Microsoft Image Composer"-format .mic I have a couple of old images that came with an ancient Frontpage version. When I browse them in XnView I have several problems: a) they are filtered when "View > Filter by" is set to "Images" so they are not re...

1.93.4: Shell extension - convert output folder broken

In the "Convert..." dialog of the Shell extension I set the output to a specific folder (that already exists, btw). But each image I convert this way is written to the same folder as the original image.
