Re: Batch Processing "Move File" function
If it were just a handful of files in a handful of folders, no problem, but I'm referring to a folder and subfolder structure of 100s / 1000s of folders and subfolders, and 100,000s of files.. Unfortunately, this can't be done in explorer in an automated way.. it would mean going into every single ...

Batch Processing "Move File" function
One thing I've found myself needing a lot lately is a simple "file move" function that operates within the recursive file display that xnView already has..
So, for example, instead of doing a Batch Process \ Convert all to JPG \ and output the results to $\JPG, we would be able to do Batch Process ...

Re: Suggestion: Rename as a Batch Convert action
Any chance a function like this might make its way into xnView also, and not just 'MP' ?
Having batch renaming integrated into the batch processing sequence would be phenomenal.. Being able to process an entire tree full of images, selecting only the TIF files, resizing them down to a max of 96px ...

Re: Possible to use PNG with Transparency for watermark?
That's what I don't understand.. Thumbsplus shows the file as "24-bit+alpha", and it shows me the transparency properly..
If I open the PNG in Photoshop, it shows transparency properly with a checkered background.
In xnView, if I right-click the PNG and select Properties, it says 32 bit per plane ...

Possible to use PNG with Transparency for watermark?
I'm trying to batch process a folder of 24-bit TIF files (no transparency), applying a watermark image on top, and saving them to JPG.
The watermark image is a 24-bit PNG image with transparency. The opacity / transparency is already built-in.. in other words, I'm applying it at 100% opacity in ...

Re: Batch Conversion, individual subfolders under source
LOL, no sooner do I post it then I look at my 20th google search and I find:
$\JPG
for the output directory.. never mind! Sorry!
Is there a location with additional switches like that one? That would be bookmark-worthy for me.

Batch Conversion, individual subfolders under source
I may be missing how to do this, but I've explored the app and related posts and can't find out how. When doing batch conversions across many folders, it would be very helpful if the converted output were placed in a subdirectory under each source directory... for example:
ROOT\
\images of dogs ...

Re: Identifying transparency in non-supported formats
On a related note, is there a way to define the color of the areas that were alpha transparent.. for example, if I batch process a series of TIFFs with transparency, and save to JPG, the transparent areas will become solid black in the JPG.. can I change that solid black, during the output process ...

Identifying transparency in non-supported formats
Probably the most common way of recognizing transparency in an image is the checkerboard background to show transparent areas. When an image containing transparency (i.e. TGA, TIF, PNG) is saved to a format which does not support transparency (i.e. JPG) for preview on the web, the transparent area(s ...

Re: Export formats
Please don't get rid of TGA format. Remember, not only photographers are using xnView. People who design graphics for video games / 3D simulator environments, and 3D models, regularly use the TGA format alongside TIF.

Possible to "Show all files (recursive)" in only 1st level?
I want to add IPTC tags to files in a directory structure under a common root folder.
When using the "Show all files (recursive)" function, is it possible to restrict the resulting list to only the first-level of subfolders? For example:
root\
\level_1\
\level_1\
\level_1\level_2
\level_1\level ...
