Re: images that have been removed

...to add to above:

It doesn't matter how many files are transferred. From where did you transfer? - from a memory card?

You can use Piriform's Recuva to try to get back your files.

Re: images that have been removed

In 99.9% of cases, this isn't a problem with XnView MP (or any other „normal” program) because OSs file system guarantees that the file will not „vanish” or gets „corrupted” whatever it happens. There is a quite thick isolation layer between the programs and file system. Most probably you have a pro...

Re: Can XnViewMP run without huge amount of logging data?

1. What logging do you see?

Re: Custom arguments/parameters for command buttons

+1

Easy to implement.

For placeholders I suggest to use the standard DOS prefix, that is %
So we have:

%current_folder, %current_file etc.

Re: Can I set a default save directory?

This is standard OS behavior. At least on Windows it can be changed - the standard Open / Save dialogs have such property. I see the implementation of this thing (IF necessary) via a checkbox somewhere in Tools \ Settings saying „Save As in the same folder with the original”. I understand that somet...

Perhaps, you can get a translation of my help file with google translate (The link below )
Perhaps you can write it in English in Xnview's Wiki?

Re: Unsupported *.raf images

In fact, the solution is simple: (If Pierre DOES NOT FORGET) it needs just a build with the new dcraw in the new (upcoming) version of Xnview MP.

Re: Unsupported *.raf images

After a chat with Richard and updating my ACR it seems that indeed the problem is in XnView's dcraw - it doesn't support the compressed Fuji's RAW format while the old RAW is supported. I can open the "black image" safely with the latest ACR version 11.1 while with my previous one - 9.2, I think - A...

Problem with the file - is not with XnView MP. Below is my message to Richard (Butler), DPReview's Technical Editor: ---------------------------------- Hi Richard, Sorry for disturbing you. Just a quick note about the raw file of the photo from https://www.dpreview.com/sample-galleries/6974816295/fu...

Re: learning metadata storage methods for category/comment

I now understand that the Write button is the immediate and manual way to do what I intend to Never do which is to write back into the tag region of an image file. Yep. Writing to image file is therefore normal off and I suppose that automatic writes are not enabled by any obscure configuration swi...
