Re: Need to change the location of settings

Yes, with the default option "User", settings are stored in the user profile. Each user of the machine sets his own preferences, independently: The original idea of the 2nd option "Program (XnView)" was to have a single .ini file so all users have the same settings for consistency (for exemple "Keep...

Re: 0.82: Constantly hangs when viewing videos (20.000+ videos)

Hi Pierre sorry for the delay. I realised I used a completely new .ini file whereas I used to save mine before deploying a new version. Here is the feedback. The issue described comes when the option "useInternalVideoPlayer" is set to true and this is by default on any new installation :( On my own ...

Re: Need to change the location of settings

Hello, Can we have a change implemented in a future version? Unless I'm wrong, the options are made to switch from "Single user mode" aka each user of a machine have is own settings to "Multiple users mode" aka all users shares a same set of settings. Since my original post there are now 2 options o...

Re: Improve the Rotation Dialogue

I didn't knew that :) Steps: 1. Double-click on an image to open in Viewer 2. Edit | Crop (or press Shift + X) 3. Select an area around the "horizon" - take care to have an edge close to "horizon" 4. Go with the mouse NEAR to the one of the corners of the crop rectangle till you'll see a "rotating" ...

Re: Horizon Straightener Needed

the angle adjustment slider is very sensitive, making it hard to make small angle adjustments without using the digital angle display which is slower I fully agree with you, the sensisivity of the slider is too high and using the up/down arrow is too slow but I would not recommend to add "yet anoth...

Re: 0.82: Constantly hangs when viewing videos (20.000+ videos)

Issue is back, since version 0.87 & 0.88.

It happened to me many time, with multiple .MP4 files, just after reading.
It should be noted also that the sound is bad, a kind of loop, echoing and still after the video ended. We have to close XnView MP

Improve the Rotation Dialogue

Currently the free rotation dialogue consist of a ruler and a arrow that we can move with either the mouse or the keyboard. Moving the arrow on the ruler is not easy, sometime too reactive. Also, the rotation is always centred with the image, which is not always optimal. For example the main subject...

Audio volume set to 0 by default, not saved

I found this issue after having installed the last version (0.88) without having saved my .ini file. I was surprised there was no sound for the videos. After having changed the volume it's ok but I encountered the same issue with the next video. The volume parameter in the .ini file is never udated....

Full Screen - Strip on top to show pictures ahead

When you have a lot of similar pictures I found the full screen mode with the strip of image on the top very useful. It's very efficient when you need to evaluate, keep the good and exclude the bad. The strip is resizable so you can show a dozen or more aor very few thumbnails as you like. An improv...

Re: Rotation and EXIF Orientation field

Confirmed: The bug is still there in version 0.87.

In View mode, using the 2 buttons Rotate Left/Right rotates the picture but do not reset the EXIF orientation flag to "Upper Left (1)"
The same buttons in browser mode acts properly.

(sometime a refresh -F5 is needed to show the results)

Re: There are 2 options related to EXIF orientation

Perhaps if the user rotates an image with option b), then option a) could be enabled automatically, so the effect of the rotation will be visible. That's exactly what I meant and now you see my point: If you enable one, the other option should be enabled as well. If you disable one the other should...

Draw Tool removes metadata (EXIF, IPTC)

I discovered the drawing tool recently and find it very useful. Unfortunately I discovered that it strips, clean, remove some (all?) metadata like EXIF and IPTC :(

Can you please consider a fix for this?

Thank's in advance

Re: Rotation and EXIF Orientation field

After having been fixed it seems the issue is back. Can you check and fix it again? I don't take that much pictures in portrait so I had a doubt. Today I received some from a friend so I put some attention at the EXIF Orientation field and found it was left unchanged. How to reproduce: In view mode,...

Re: Change timestamp doesn't (always) work

unticked: when the image metadata is written and the file modified date is automatically updated by the operating system, then the program actively overrides this by reinstating the previous value This looks like a bug: Even if the 3 options "Keep original date for..." are unticked, using "Change T...
