That's exactly why I'm interested in it, I work a lot with sprites and pixel art.

Well, in that case it seems to be perfect! I just guess that most people would want to use such a feature with photographs.

Neither should someone working with non-photographic images use anything but nearest ...

Most probably, it's the source code for Quake3. I supposed it would be of help since the game does handle the format and it should contain info on how it works.

Would it be possible to implement a feature for specifying custom selection sizes and ratios by typing the values?. Pixel-precise selection can be a painful thing to do with the mouse.

Another handy feature would be being able to move this selected area pixel by pixel, using the keyboard (arrow ...

XnView won't select anything smaller than a 9 pixel square. Could you make it possible to select areas as small as 1 or 2 pixels wide?.
