Note also that I would like to change the wording:
13 object(s) / 1 object(s) selected
to:
13 total / 1 selected
because it's neater

Show date in status bar / custom status bar
For a long time, I have really wished the Status Bar would include the file date . I constantly need to see the date of files, and the only way to do it currently is to right-click on thumbnails and bring up Properties, which is slow and irritating.
Further, I also wish you could customize the ...

Re: Interpolated zooming should be disabled for very small images
Hi Pierre, I've just noticed that you made this change! Thank you!
Forgive me, but I can't find the 'cmd_useSmooth' button. I click "Customize Toolbar" but it's not in the list.
Also, would there be any way to assign a keyboard shortcut to it, so I can do it in Full Screen mode?

I've just updated Windows recently, a small update, probably rebooted several times, and now after a couple of days PDF thumbnails are back...
For the record I use Windows 7 x64. I permanently disabled Windows updates back in 2016 when Microsoft started sending telemetry and installing malware ...

Re: Show thumbnails of PDFs
ensure that in the viewer, File > Format settings... -- Read tab the option Ignore read errors is enabled
Hmmm. I can't find that option. There is no "Format settings" in the File menu.
I can find:
Tools > Settings > Formats > Read tab > PS/PDF
But the only options there are Resolution, Page ...

Re: Show thumbnails of PDFs
No, I can't view or preview PDFs in any way in XnView.
I will get in touch with Ghostscript and see if they can help. Their documentation is way too long and complicated to read, so I'll ask them!

Re: Show thumbnails of PDFs
Yes, I've installed GhostScript 9.53.3 x64bits, but XnView still looks like this:

Do you have to do anything with GhostScript? I only installed it, I haven't changed any settings.

Re: Show thumbnails of PDFs
Oh, I had no idea it was possible to see thumbnails of PDFs! That's great!xnview wrote: Thu Oct 15, 2020 10:55 am you need to install ghostscript to be able to show/load PDF files
But I'm in the same position as the other guy here. I've installed Ghostscript (64bit) and can't see PDF thumbnails in Xnview. What do I need to do?

Show thumbnails of PDFs
I know XnView doesn't open PDFs, but it would still be really useful if it was possible to show a thumbnail of page 1 of each PDF in the browser!

Re: How to disable the pan tool in full-screen mode?
Just to clarify...
If I enable or disable "Show Pan Tool" in the settings, it does NOT take immediate effect. But it always takes effect after restarting Xn.
I suppose it would be ideal if it could take immediate effect, but not important.

Re: "Lock Zoom" only works the SECOND time you activate it
By the way, if you enable "Lock Zoom" twice in a row, it still won't work.
To make it work, you need to do "Lock Zoom" - then do some zooming - and then do "Lock Zoom" again.

Re: How to disable the pan tool in full-screen mode?
Sorry Pierre, you're right, disabling the pan tool DOES work. However, it doesn't take effect until AFTER the program has been closed and re-opened. Perhaps this could be improved?
