Re: search dialog (ctrl-f)

at the end there should be 2 buttons:
view
*and*
browse
;-)
which will:
view the search results (opens the first picture in the search result and let ...

Re: Instead---
- If I get you alright, you would prefer to browse the real entire images ,
instead to get a table of thumb-nails for the search result ?
yes. in some way ;-)
but not, as you described, with copying the files of the <search result> into a temp.dir. this could take way too long, as you said too ...

Re: batch convert issues
By the way. When you Search files with XnView and then use "batch convert" and you leave the path empty, XnView will save each image by using it's own path... And this is problem...
you're right ;-) i think thats a problem too.
although i like the feature you reported, i see why it's a problem ...

i don't like that much, because what the button does (until now), is browsing the thumbnails and not showing the pictures found.Dreamer wrote:[23 files found] ... [Show]xnview wrote:Ok, for 1 result, but for more than 1 found file??loth wrote:-an additional button "view"

Dear Pierre, I was just going to suggest similar thing, but not for rotation, but for lossless crop. But my suggestion is not for a preview window.
When I am going to crop an image, I first try it with a normal crop (not lossless) and then I undo it and go to lossless crop. However, the selection ...

Re: jpeg lossless transformation prevw. picture and last set
the "jpeg lossless transformation"-window chould have a small preview picture.
also, you could add a checkbox for remembering the last choosen rotate, so, if checked, the user only has to press enter to rotate the picture (if it is the degree, he like to)
Hum, preview in "jpeg lossless ...

Re: remermbering last selected picture/thumbnail
Ok, so everyone agree??
I disagree. "Esc" means always "Cancel" or "Close", but for "Enter" key you can configure various operations (Tools > Options > General > Switching mode). So there is not always two ways for canceling. This means that having different behaviour for "Enter" and "Cancel" does ...

Re: rename: need a pulldownmenu with the last renamed filena
hi all,
in the rename window (reproduce: F2 in fullscreen mode):
a pulldown-menu with the last renamed files would be help-/useful.
please add such a thing ;-) so the user can choose filenames from older renaming sessions.

Re: remermbering last selected picture/thumbnail
when in browser-mode, pressing enter on "thumbA" will show the "pictureA" (in fullscreen mode on my computer).
now, when moving through some other pictures with pg-down/pg-up, end pressing ENTER on, say, "pictureX", browser-mode comes back again, with the focus on "thumbX".
this is really nice ...

-renaming the button "view" to "browse", because it doesnt show/view the picture(s), but open them all in a browser window.
I think that the term "browse" is better. What do you think?
what about "browse results" ? the tooltip of the button could be more specific ;) if the user is unsure what ...

Re: Get all---
- Instead to resign the current operation with an " Escape / Abort " button, why not a feature allowing to switch the (slow) current job in the background (in another thread… ) ?

i support that feature ...
