Scanning Multi pages is not working?
Hi All,
I am new to XnView. I searched the forum and only found one other post relating to my problem. I would like to scan multiple pages and create either TIFFs or PDFs of these scans. I'm using the "File...Acquire into" Command and making sure Multiple Pages is checked and I'm scanning in as TIFF format. However, when I start scanning, the first page scans and then that's it - nothing happens? It saves the file automatically and I have no further dialog boxes or questions about the procedure. So, my query is, am I doing something wrong? Where is it I can put my second page in and keep on scanning into this file? It just doesn't seem to be working for me. Maybe it's my scanner (Epson CX3100 MutilFunction) but I am asking in case I'm missing something obvious here.
Thanks for any help offered...

I'm using XnView 1.95.4 with full installation and am using Windows Xp Home. I should also note that scanning multi-page works fine with Microsoft Office Document Image Scanning and my scanner, so the scanner can definitely 'do' it fine. I just think there's some glitch there with XnView as with one of the other posters from those links you listed, after the first page, scanning stops and nothing else happens.

The crash occurs after the second scan? Do you have the message box?
Pierre.

- First, I go to File » Acquire into... and enter these settings in the Batch scanning dialog:
[ z00m ]
- Clicking the Scan button starts my scanner's driver software:
[ z00m ]
- Upon initiating the scan, the TWAIN driver's progress bar shows up:
[ z00m ]
- As soon as the first page is scanned, XnView comes back to the front.
The progress bar in XnView's status line is moving, which indicates that X:\Scans\tmp_xnview-1.png is created.
If I go to Acquire into... again, XnView crashes as soon as I click on Scan: “Exception number: c0000005 (access violation)”.

You don't have a dialog box 'Do you want to continue batch scanning"??XnTriq wrote:As soon as the first page is scanned, XnView comes back to the front.

Do you have the same problem in 1.95?
Pierre.

Thank you, Pierrexnview wrote:I send you a test version
Batch scanning works with the version you've sent me, but the automatic process of compiling the scanned pages to a multi-page document fails.
Let's say I'd like to create a 3-page PDF document:
- After each scan XnView asks me: “Do you want to continue batch scanning?”
I'm clicking on Yes for the first two pages and on No for the third page. - XnView builds test.pdf and then deletes tmp_xnview-1.png & tmp_xnview-2.png.
The file tmp_xnview-3.png is left behind. - When I open test.pdf in Acrobat Reader, only page 1/3 & 2/3 can be displayed.
Page #3 is missing.
Update: No problems when acquiring into multi-page TIFF!Acrobat Reader v6.0.5.399 wrote:There was an error displaying thumbnails. There was a problem reading this document (14).
