XnviewMP crash on load several pictures who have originaly problem with metada exif problem , gthumb software create this error
I was this kind of error before :
error: Bad format (0) for IFD0 entry 0.
exiftool IMG_7982.JPG | grep -i decision
Original Decision Data Offset : 3186
Warning : Invalid original decision data
I fix them with this command :
exiftool -all= -tagsfromfile @ -all:all -unsafe test.jpg
The exif diff before/after the fix :
diff ok.txt ko.txt

I have test to clear the configuration of xnviewmp, same problem ( mv .xnviewmp{,.old}
)
